Who can resist those cows that encourage you to “Eat MorChikin”? Not me! And while I do like those cute cows and their convincing advertising, I also love to indulge in Chick-fil-Achicken! That’s why I’ve gathered all the hacks, ins and outs, and tasty tricks you need to know when enjoying Chick-fil-A.

Chick-fil-A One Rewards

The ultimate way to enjoy Chick-fil-A is to be a member of their rewards program. When you join the free rewards program, Chick-fil-A One, you'll get points with every qualifying purchase. Before you know it, you’ll receive enough points for food rewards ranging from free sides and desserts to free entrees.

You’ll receive 10 points for every dollar spent on qualifying orders, and rewards start at only 200 points. That means it won’t take long to get enough points to start getting free food. Even if you order in a Chick-fil-A restaurant and forget to use the app, you can scan your receipt to get points for that purchase as well.
Chick-fil-A One members are the first to know about new menu items and other exclusive content and you can save favorite foods and account information to make ordering even easier. Then, as you place more orders, you'll move up to Silver, Red and then Signature status, with added benefits at each level.

Let’s quickly go through those tiers:

You start out at 10 points per $1 spent until you earn 1,000 total points. (That doesn’t mean you have to have those 1,000 points in your account; it means that you’ve earned those points within a year.)

After the first 1,000 points, here’s what happens:

  • Silver Membership Level (1,000 – 4,999 total points): You’ll earn 11 points per $1 spent. You’ll also gain the ability to gift your rewards to someone else if you so choose.
  • Red Membership Level (5,000 – 9,999 total points): You’ll earn 12 points per $1 spent. In addition to the ability to gift, you get to take a free Chick-fil-A Backstage Tour (with up to 5 guests) at the Chick-fil-A Home Office.
  • Signature Membership Level (10,000+ total points): You’ll earn 13 points per $1 spent. You’ll get to gift, check out the home office, and unlock rewards exclusive to only Signature Members.
  • On your special day: Chick-fil-A One reward members will score something sweet for FREE. (What the treat is depends on your level.) That means you can’t be bashful — put that birthdate in there!

Chick-fil-A App

The Chick-fil-A App is the best way to access all your Chick-fil-A One benefits. The menu, your tier status, rewards, and more are right at your fingertips. You can save your favorites to make ordering easier, customize your meals the way you like them, and start racking up the points every time you make a qualifying purchase.
The app is great for easy ordering too. Set it up to have it delivered, or just order ahead and skip the wait with pick up. It even saves your orders for future reference. Add your payment right on the app too. Convenience is the name of this app game!

The Chick-fil-A App is also your source for regional coupons. Be sure to add your favorite location and keep an eye out.  Keep in mind; it is up to individual owners to dispense the coupons.

Chick-fil-A Receipt Survey

Never say “no” to a receipt at Chick-fil-A as it could be your ticket to MORE chicken — FREE chicken. Chick-fil-A gives away a free Original Chicken Sandwich when you fill out a survey using the link on the bottom of some receipts. About one in every five receipts will have the survey on it, so cross your fingers and check your receipt.

If you are lucky enough to get one, go online and visit MyChickfilAVisit.com (within 48 hours of your original visit) and fill out a short customer survey. After you complete the survey, you’ll get a unique code valid for a free Chick-fil-A Original chicken sandwich. It’s a well-known fact that free always tastes good!

Let’s Talk About the Sauce

If you love Chick-fil-A, you KNOW about the sauce! It’s a must-have and we simply can’t get enough. If you’re looking for more than just the little sauces you get in the restaurant, consider these options for more.

  • You can purchase an 8-ounce bottle at Chick-fil-A for $2.75. (Price may vary by location.)
  • Walmart has started selling 16-ounce bottles of Chick-fil-A sauce for $3.98. It IS cheaper than picking it up at Chick-fil-A. That also means you can literally put it on anything you create at home.
  • Make your own!  Mix 2 tablespoons of yellow mustard, a ½ cup of mayonnaise, a tablespoon of lemon juice, a ¼ cup of BBQ sauce, and a ¼ cup of honey — refrigerate for at least an hour to let the flavors meld and you’re good to go! Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Secret Menu Items and Creative Ordering

Try something new and maybe even stretch the budget with some secret menu items or creative ordering.

  • Get a Chick-fil-A grilled cheese when you order a toasted bun with cheese (and toasted again with the cheese inside).
  • Enjoy a Chick-fil-A Root Beer Float when you order a small root beer and a kid’s-size ice cream.
  • Try the Chick-fil-A BLT when you ask for a toasted bun with bacon, lettuce, and tomato.
  • Sip on a Chick-fil-A Arnold Palmer when you fill a cup with half lemonade and half iced tea and then add a kid’s-size ice cream.
  • If you’re health conscious, order your sandwich “protein style,” and you can get it lettuce wrapped instead.
  • While they offer a Grilled Chicken Club which costs about $8.85, you can actually create your own version for cheaper. Just order the Original Chicken Sandwich (the fried version) and add bacon, cheese, lettuce, and tomato for a total of $7.39. (Price may vary by location.)
  • For kids who never seem to finish their entire sandwiches, consider this cost-cutting hack. Instead of ordering two separate sandwiches (approximately $10.58), order 4-piece Chicken Strips and two sets of buns for about $8.85 and build your own! (Price may vary by location.)
  • Craving Chick-fil-A for the football game on a Sunday, but then you realize they’re not open? Pick up a 30-count Chick-fil-A catering tray of nuggets (regularly $18.35) on Saturday and refrigerate it for the next day. Then simply reheat them in the air fryer. It provides some cost savings too.  This tray is $0.61/nugget, whereas the 5-count is $0.68/nugget and 8-count is $0.67/nugget. This idea may come in handy when feeding the kids too.

Possible Discounts

Some Chick-fil-A locations like to offer a special “Military Monday” event for service members. Instead of a monetary or percentage discount, members of the military may receive a complimentary wrap, sandwich, or nugget entree. Make sure you call and ask and be prepared to provide your military ID to your cashier to get this Chick-fil-A military freebie.

  • There also isn’t an across the board Senior Discount either. It is rumored though, that if you ask, certain locations offer a free soda with a senior’s entree order.
  • There is however a sort of “Employee Discount”.  Most Chick-fil-A franchises offer a free meal if you work a shift that day.  (A shift is usually 5 hours and a meal roughly $8).

Did You Know?

Here a few more interesting details about Chick-fil-A:

  • If a Chick-fil-A location messes up your order or there is an exceptionally long wait for your order, Chick-fil-A might give you a “Be Our Guest” card. These cards get you a free chicken sandwich or milkshake to make up their goof.
  • Attend a grand opening! Usually if you’re one of the first 100 people in line at a grand opening, you’ll qualify for a free Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich meal a week for an entire year.
  • Follow your local Chick-fil-A restaurant on social media (Facebook, Instagram, X, etc) to be in the know about family events with free activities for the kids.  (Some of you may recall their Cow Appreciation Days which unfortunately have been canceled in recent years, but some local stores have forged on by doing fun family events likePirate and Princess Night, Dinner with Santa, and more.)Social media is also a great way to learn about new and seasonal items you’ll want to try.
  • When you order a kid’s meal, ask for a kid’s ice cream instead of a toy and they’ll gladly make the switch for free. (Those toys end up in the trash anyway, right?)  Do note, you have to ask at the time you order because they won’t take back a toy to exchange for ice cream if you’ve already handled it due to health and safety concerns.
