What are Home Depot Kids Workshops?

Home Depot Kids Workshops are free, monthly events held at Home Depot stores nationwide. These workshops offer children ages 5-12 the opportunity to build various projects, from birdhouses and toolboxes to holiday-themed crafts and toys. Upcoming Home Depot Workshop Sneak Peek

The workshops take place on the first Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., with sign-ups typically opening a month in advance.

Kids may be excited about some projects over others, so it's really nice that Home Depot announces when future Kids Workshops will occur, as well as what they will be making. Here's the when and what for the current upcoming events:

What to Expect at a Home Depot Kids Workshop

The workshops provide kids with an opportunity to engage, learn, and enjoy themselves in a secure and encouraging setting. Plus, they get to take home an item they personally work on – for FREE!

Kids are taught fundamental building techniques and the careful use of tools, all under the supervision of parents or guardians. This not only ensures safety but also fosters an interactive experience between child and parent.

Show up anytime between 9 am and 12 pm, and your child will be outfitted with the hallmark orange apron and the tools to create a new project each month. They get to bring their creation home, along with a certificate of achievement and a pin for their apron. Did we mention it’s FREE? Good job, Home Depot!

How to Join the Home Depot Kids Workshop

Home Depot’s Kids Workshops are free but have limited supplies. Early registration is crucial as spaces fill up quickly. Sign your kids up promptly to ensure they don’t miss out.

Registering Online

To enroll your child in Home Depot Kids Workshops, just take these simple actions:

1. Head over to the Home Depot Workshops page online.
2. Find the section titled “In-Store Kids Workshops.”
3. Click "Sign Up" and a form will pop open for you.
4. Verify the store location.
5. Fill in your name and email address.
6. Note the number of children that will be participating.
7. Select the workshop you are wanting to attend from the dropdown menu.
8. Click the "Register" button.

Supplies & Materials: What's Provided?

At the Kids Workshops, Home Depot provides all essential items, including aprons and workshop kits. Upon arrival, head to the workshop desk for check-in and receive your apron and specific kit.

Home Depot also supplies all necessary tools, such as hammers, screwdrivers, safety goggles, paintbrushes, and sanding blocks. Whether basic or specialized, all tools are ready for use.
